So for starters, I am not for divorce and it shouldn't be the number 1 answer to marital problems. Most problems can be worked through with counseling but I do understand that some can not be and people choose to get a divorce. Below are reasons why divorce is bad:
· Expensive $125,000
· 70% regret it 2 years later
· 5 years later, 75% or more said they were satisfied with their marriage
· Falter becomes distant
· Child usually goes with mom and is in poverty
· Child believes it’s their fault
6 Stages of Divorces
1. Emotional divorce – loss of trust, respect, and affection for each other
2. Legal divorce – court officially brings the marriage to an end
3. Economic divorce- settlement of resources
4. Coparental divorce – experiences by those with children
5. Community divorce – each other leaves partners friends and relations
6. Psychic divorce- central separation, individual must accepts the relationship has ended
Story Time!
My friends parents got a divorce and both remarried and their families are literally great friends! It's incredible to still see that friendship between everyone. You imagine hatred in each others eyes but they have put the children first and have a good relationship. Each others families are invited to celebrations and events, it's great. They didn't get along in the marriage but have kept a good relationship and it's a great example of a divorce couple who cares about their children.
